CONSHOHOCKEN, PA - May 20, 2026 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

Dena Young has been selected to speak at the American Association of Justice’s Sexual Assault Litigation College. As Founding and Managing Attorney at Spotlight Justice, a law firm based in the Greater Philadelphia area, Young will join other legal professionals in guiding AAJ members through the complexities of sexual assault cases and effective strategies when representing survivors while advocating for their rights.

Young will share her expertise on best practices to prepare sexual assault victims for their defense medical exam. She will also help lead other workshops and breakout sessions occurring during the two-day program, which will cover topics such as e-discovery issues, premises liability in sexual assault cases, case planning, pleading tactics, presenting damages, and more.

“As an attorney who represents survivors of sexual abuse, being selected to participate in this program is deeply meaningful,” said Young. “The path to justice in these cases is often complex and retraumatizing, and it is critical that attorneys are equipped not only with legal strategy, but with the sensitivity and preparation necessary to effectively support their clients. I’m honored to help guide fellow practitioners in navigating these challenges and advancing stronger advocacy for survivors.”

Young was selected to speak at this year’s Sexual Assault Litigation College by faculty recommendation. Kelly Guagenty, the Co-chair of AAJ’s Anti-Human Trafficking Litigation Group, invited Young to participate due to her experience representing victims of sexual abuse in settings such as juvenile detention centers and behavioral health facilities.

AAJ’s Sexual Assault Litigation College will take place from Thursday, May 28th, to Saturday, May 30th, at the AAJ Headquarters in Washington, DC. Young’s workshop on preparing sexual assault survivors for their defense medical exam will take place on Friday, May 29th. The program is available to AAJ members upon registration, with discounted registration fees for members within the AAJ’s Child Sex Abuse and Sexual Assault Litigation Groups.
