Mills Heating & Air has opened nominations for its 2026 Veteran in Need Giveaway, a community program that will provide one deserving local veteran with a new HVAC system and professional installation at no cost. Nominations are being accepted through October 9, 2026, with the recipient to be announced during an October 15 event honoring local heroes.
Through the program, one veteran living within the company's service area, from Navarre to Panama City Beach and surrounding communities across Northwest Florida, will receive a new heating and cooling system and complete installation free of charge. The company is asking families, friends, neighbors, veteran organizations, local businesses and community members to help identify candidates and spread the word.
"These are our neighbors, and taking care of them has always meant more than keeping their homes comfortable," said Amber "AJ" Jeter, Marketing and Community Director at Mills Heating & Air. "When the team has an opportunity to use its trade to make someone's home safer and more comfortable, especially for a veteran who has served the country, that is something everyone here is proud to be part of."

Nominees may include a parent or grandparent, a friend or neighbor, a fellow service member, or any community member whose story deserves to be heard. Residents who wish to Nominate a Local Veteran can submit a nomination through the company before the October 9 deadline, and those who want to follow the program may check out our Facebook page for updates.
The program will culminate on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce, where Mills Heating & Air will announce the recipient during a live drawing. The company will also provide lunch to local heroes as a way to bring the community together and recognize the men and women who serve, and have served, the surrounding communities.
